The Recovery Remedy

The aftermath of a breakup

Via
There are a few different remedies depending on the preference.

1. The Weary Woman  (this was me). This is the girl who deals with her pain completely outwards, non stop sobbing, constantly analyzing the break up, and basic venting. The reintroduction into society is a tricky and unstable time for her. When you(or your friend) are ready to venture outside take her to a spa or plan a trip with a few friends, nothing too overwhelming.....think Carmel or Napa for nice dinners and mellow atmosphere. Too much alcohol or a large crowd will most definitely cause her to breakdown and start all over again.

2. The Tough Cookie This is the girl who cries at the beginning and then slowly begins to bury the pain, she wants to go to bars and drink ALOT. Although this may not be the healthiest of ways to deal, it is her way and it works for her. This type of girl needs a little more time to deal with whats happened. Always be willing and waiting to go out and have an awesome time, no matter what.

3. The Family Girl This is your friend who is very close to her family and when something devastating happens she just wants to run home to Mom and Dad. Don't judge her for this, be there for her and if you are close enough and she wants you to go with her and have a family weekend. Sometimes a home cooked meal and a snuggle with your Mom can make you feel worlds better.

4. The Damsel in Denial This is the friend who has yet to shed a tear, she has been constantly picking up new hobbies, going out, working like a mad woman and most likely not sleeping. The only thing you can do for her is try and participate as much as she wants you to in her new found busy lifestyle. Patience its necessary with this because most likely its going to be a long road ahead before she really deals with the break up. Play along with her denial for as long as she needs and don't pressure her. She will come around eventually. Get some cool deals online for fun activities or trips and help her to stay busy.
